1 year agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to make his team debut in Tuesday's matchup against Detroit. The veteran has his first practice session with the Lakers on Monday. Dinwiddie's fantasy value takes a hit in Los Angeles, as he won't be a starter, but injuries have left quite a few gaps in the lineup, and we should still see plenty of him on Tuesday. However, Dinwiddie needs to start hitting shots if he wants to carve out a significant role in L.A. The 30-year-old is shooting just 39 percent from the field this season with a 32 percent success rate from downtown.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 year agoAccording to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Raptors plan to waive guard Spencer Dinwiddie. The veteran was traded to Toronto ahead of Thursday's deadline, ending his second stint with the Brooklyn Nets. Although he has had a down year up to this point, primarily due to the emergence of Cam Thomas, he still had more than a few solid outings for fantasy managers. Dinwiddie has averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.1 assists in 514 regular season games. The 30-year-old probably won't remain without a team for long, and he'll likely land a routine role in a rotation wherever he ends up. Managers in all formats should keep Dinwiddie on the roster for now, considering his numbers could improve moving ahead.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

1 year agoBrooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie was dealt to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Dennis Schroder and Thaddeus Young ahead of the trade deadline on Thursday. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he's expected to be waived by the Raptors so they can save $1.5 million for a games played bonus that was in his contract. The 30-year-old has been going through a very rough shooting year as he's only knocked down 39.1% of his shots on 10.4 attempts per game. He has, however, collected 6.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest while limiting his turnovers to 1.3 a night. A competitive team in need of a backup point guard will likely take a look at him on the buyout market, but he'll be a wait-and-see type of player for fantasy managers looking to add him.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

1 year agoAccording to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, guard Spencer Dinwiddie is the "most available" player on Brooklyn's roster. The 30-year-old was traded from the Mavericks ahead of the deadline last season and is currently making the second stop of his career in Brooklyn. But Dinwiddie isn't a true point guard, something the Nets need. Additionally, the uptick in production from Cam Thomas has limited Dinwiddie to just over 30 minutes per game, his lowest workload in years. He's also averaging 12.6 points, 6.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, all down from the 2022-23 campaign. That said, the 2014 No. 39 overall pick still has plenty to offer other teams around the National Basketball Association, and his expiring contract could benefit clubs looking to fill a temporary void. If Dinwiddie remains with the Nets, he'll likely remain a hit-or-miss fantasy asset. However, a move elsewhere could do wonders for his fantasy potential.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

1 year agoBrooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has fallen out of any future plans with the team it seems as Adrian Wojnarowski reports that they're listening to offers for him, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Royce O'Neale. The 30-year-old point guard hasn't been able to find an offensive rhythm with the Nets yet while he shoots sub-40 percent right now and averages 12.7 points per game. With the rise of Cam Thomas, Lonnie Walker IV, and Dennis Smith Jr., it seems like the Nets are comfortable getting some draft capital or younger players in return for Dinwiddie. Depending on where he moves, Dinwiddie's fantasy value could take a sizeable jump if he sees some playing time with a better team.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller
