Sony Michel Expected To Be Ready For Week 1
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said running back Sony Michel will be ready for the regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears. The Rams reportedly won't know for sure until they put the game plan in Wednesday/Thursday. Michel was traded from the Patriots to the Rams during training camp after the team lost star running back Cam Akers (Achilles) for the season. The 26-year-old could see early-down work and is expected to take some carries away from Darrell Henderson, who is currently dealing with a thumb injury. Michel rushed for 449 yards on 79 carries and one touchdown while catching seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown over nine games for the Patriots in 2020. The Georgia product doesn't catch many passes but could be excellent value as an RB3/4 in upcoming fantasy drafts if he becomes the Rams' primary running back.
