Sonny Gray Picks Up Win Out Of Bullpen
6 years agoAfter 10 innings, the New York Yankees went to Sonny Gray out of the bullpen, his first appearance since a disastrous start against Baltimore spelled the end of his time in the starting rotation. The 28-year-old would emerge with a win on Tuesday, going three innings and allowing just one hit and one walk. He also struck out four, picking up his ninth victory of the season. While the victory will, in all probability, do nothing for his immediate chances to return to the rotation, his role could be valuable down the stretch as a reliable arm that can go multiple innings out of the bullpen.
