Sonny Gray Likely To Be Traded?
6 years agoNew York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that it would probably be best for all parties if pitcher Sonny Gray is traded. Gray just didn't work out for the Yankees. He was actually worse this year than last, going 11-9 with a 4.90 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 8.5 K/9 in 30 outings (23 starts). He was bumped from the rotation late in the year because of his struggles. If Gray goes to a better pitching environment and irons out his control (career-high 3.9 walks per nine innings), he could bounce back in 2019.
