2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) threw off a mound on Monday for the first time since reporting to spring training. The 24-year-old threw 15 fastballs during his mound session, and he's expected to throw another bullpen this Friday. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder last October and is slowing building up his throwing program. Sanchez also revealed recently that he lost over 40 pounds in the offseason as he attempts to get healthy for the first time since 2020. Before his injury, Sanchez was one of the more intriguing young pitching prospects, but injuries have obviously derailed him since. It's anyone's guess as to how Sanchez will perform in 2023, and he's hoping to be ready sometime this summer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
