Sidney Crosby Scores Lone Goal in Loss
5 years agoPittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby may want to start getting accustomed to carrying the team on his back, as the Penguins continue to rack up the injuries to their forward group. Crosby scored the only goal for the Penguins tonight in a 4-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets, with Jake Guentzel and Kris Letang getting the assists. The Penguins now have injury concerns with Evgeni Malkin, Nick Bjugstad, Patric Hornqvist, and Bryan Rust, making it four of their top nine forwards who could miss considerable amounts of time. While it doesn't bode well for the Penguins chances as a team, we should see significant usage from the Crosby, Guentzel, and Alex Galchenyuk line, making them an interesting line stack on nights they are facing subpar defense and goaltending. However, they won't be able to score three or four goals every night, which makes streaming goaltenders against the Penguins a viable option as well.
