Sidney Crosby Scores Hat Trick In Tuesday's Victory
1 year agoPittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby scored three goals and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 victory against the Blue Jackets. Crosby opened the scoring four minutes into the first period, and scored his second goal of the contest on a redirected shot from close range to give the Penguins a one-goal lead in the closing stages of the third period. Crosby completed the hat trick with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the contest, bringing his season totals to a team-leading 10 goals and 19 points through 14 games. It was the 16th career hat trick for the Penguins captain, while the four-point night marks a season-high for the center and extends his point streak to nine games. Crosby has picked up at least one point in 13 of 14 games to begin the season, and the 36-year-old is still one of the elite forwards in the league in his 19th NHL season.
