At a golf course that demands accuracy off the tee, Si Woo Kim has the accuracy and length to overcome one of TPC Potomac's main defenses. Kim has lost strokes off the tee in only three of his 15 starts this season, gaining over 0.3 strokes per round in the other 12 events. In addition to his success off the tee, he has also been gaining consistently on approach this year. If Kim can avoid catastrophes on the greens, his recent form and course fit should give him a fantastic chance to win this week's Wells Fargo Championship.--Byron Lindeque

Aside from a missed cut at the team event in New Orleans, Si Woo Kim has been playing well over the last few events. He finished T15 at TPC Craig Ranch this past week and placed T8 at Harbour Town a few weeks ago. The worry lies with the flat stick, as Kim ranks 135th in strokes gained putting (-0.232) and has only gained strokes in this metric in one of his last six starts. The South Korean is still one of the premier players outside of that scope, ranking 19th in strokes gained tee to green (+0.937). For a setup that will likely resemble major championship strength due to difficult putting surfaces and tight landing areas, scores need to stay modest for him to have a real opportunity. But his overall game is in a place where taking a chance is worth it.--Todd McGill - RotoBaller

Si Woo Kim finished tied for eighth at the RBC Heritage two weeks ago and is now focusing on preparing for this week's CJ Cup Byron Nelson, held at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. Prior to the RBC Heritage, Kim had missed the cut in two consecutive events. He has five top-25 finishes this season out of 13 starts. Over the past 12 months, Kim ranks in the 94th percentile in proximity to the hole on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. This is significant because over 38% of approach shots at last year's CJ Cup Byron Nelson came from this distance. Kim could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Prior to his missed cut at the Texas Children's Houston Open, Si Woo Kim recorded five straight top-38 finishes, including four inside the top 25. He looks to get back on track at the Valero Texas Open, an event he has competed in seven times, making the cut in six straight appearances with four finishes of T23 or better. To repeat this success, Kim will need to be accurate with his approach game. He currently ranks 73rd in strokes gained on approach (0.174 per round), 88th in greens in regulation, and is in the 84th percentile for proximity from 200-plus yards, a range that accounted for 28.7% of all approach shots here last year. While he has found success in other areas, Kim's biggest strength is around the green, where he ranks 23rd in strokes gained (0.341 per round). Given his strong course history and solid form prior to the Houston Open, we're willing to overlook his missed cut and consider him a solid play at his $8,700 price tag on DraftKings.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

This will be the fourth edition of this event that Si Woo Kim has played at Memorial Park Golf Course after making two previous starts at the Golf Club of Houston. In those three outings, he progressed from a missed cut in 2021 to a T35 in 2023 and a T17 last season. Strokes gained on approach metrics seem to be his make-or-break stat that has spelled out success or not at this event. The three events where he's gained strokes have resulted in a T35 or better, the two he hasn't has led to him not playing the weekend. Given his disadvantage in length off the tee, it's easy to see why his approach play is the key metric by default. The South Korean has gained strokes in this area in four of his last five starts at an average of +0.552, which makes him a decent spot-play at $10,500 on FanDuel. --Todd McGill - RotoBaller
