Si Woo Kim Has Made Five Consecutive Cuts
7 years agoSi Woo Kim, the 22-year-old South Korean golfer and 42nd-ranked player in the world, has been steadily turning his consistency around recently. Kim only made 14-of-25 cuts during the 2017 season but has already matched his made cut total of 14 so far in 2018, making 14-of-17 cuts, including his last five in a row. This week Kim will look to add to that streak during the Fort Worth Invitational. In his two prior attempts at this event, he has not broken 70 in his four rounds and has missed both cuts. In his last 24 rounds compared to the field, Kim ranks first in strokes gained off the tee. The issue is Colonial Country Club plays as an approach course, which emphasizes fairways hit. A lot of Kim's off the tee skills may be neutralized at the short Colonial course. Kim also only ranks 63rd in strokes gained on Par 4s. Despite having some promising stats, Kim has too many red flags for us to trust him in any format this week.
