Should You Fade Austin Dillon In DFS This Weekend?
8 months agoAustin Dillon's rocky start to the 2024 season continued on Saturday as he qualified 21st for the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA). For fans of the former reality TV star, the last year and a half has felt more like a nightmare as he has just two top-10 finishes in his last 20 starts and an average finish of 26.2 in the first five races of 2024. For a driver in need of a strong performance, this weekend's race could not come at a worse track style, as he has just two top-10 finishes in 33 starts on road courses. What is of further concern is that both Dillon and his RCR teammate Kyle Busch have performed poorly in the aerodynamic package that will be used in Sunday's race. In these two races, Dillon has averaged 16.45 DraftKings points, while Busch has averaged 21.05 points, results that suggest that the organization is struggling to adjust to this year's short track/road course setup. Between his lack of success on road courses, his weak start to the season, and the fact that he ranked 25th in practice speed (93.393), it is recommended that you fade the No. 3 in DFS this weekend at COTA.
