5 months agoTy Gibbs will start eighth after qualifying for this week's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. This is the 11th time this season that Gibbs will start inside the Top 10 this year, but the first time he will star in the Top 10 at Nashville in his Cup career. In his only Nashville Cup start, Gibbs placed 14th and gained some positive Place Differential. In three Xfinity Series starts at the site, Gibbs has one top-5 finish but led in all three appearances, including 48 in the Xfinity race earlier this weekend. Through 18 races so far this season, Gibbs has eight top-10 finishes, including both races at concrete tracks earlier in the year (Dover & Bristol). In practice, Gibbs was one of the fastest overall drivers, ranking in the Top 10 in all categories, including first in single-lap and 25 consecutive lap averages. Based on his practice speeds and equipment, expect Gibbs to place in the Top 10 and compete for a top-5 finish.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
