Shohei Ohtani Questionable For Friday With Back Stiffness
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (back) was removed in the eighth inning of Thursday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to back stiffness. Ohtani stated after the game that he first felt his back stiffen up after a slider he threw in the first inning of the game. He said that the issue affected his velocity throughout the remainder of his start. Angels manager Joe Maddon told reporters that Ohtani's injury isn't believed to be serious and that his status was up in the air for Friday's game.
