Shohei Ohtani Hit In The Hand, But Stays In The Game
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter/pitcher Shohei Ohtani (hand) was hit in the hand by a fastball from San Diego Padres Ryan Weathers in the first inning of Saturday's game. The umpire ruled that he was swinging on the pitch and he was called out on strikes on the play. The two-way Angels star underwent X-rays during the game and they came back clean. Ohtani stayed in the game and wound up going 0-for-4, but he walked, stole a base and scored two runs. Through 125 games on the year, Ohtani is slashing .264/.363/.623 with an MLB-leading 41 home runs to go along with 20 stolen bases, 89 RBI and 85 runs. Oh, and he's also 8-1 on the mound with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP.
