6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow) has been medically cleared to begin throwing. Ohtani had a stem-cell and PRP injection six weeks ago, which has showed continued healing. This is a surprising development, as it took fellow Angels starter Garret Richards 13 weeks before he was able to throw again when he had the same procedure done. Ohtani's throwing progression will likely take a while, but assuming no setbacks there is now a much better chance that he will pitch again this season.--patton
