Shohei Ohtani Avoids The Injured List
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani (elbow, oblique) has been out of the lineup for the past two contests. But according to Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group, an injured list stint won't be necessary for the two-way star. Fantasy managers can still consider him day-to-day, though, as test results revealed some inflammation in his right oblique. Ohtani's had a rough few weeks, as the club shut him down from pitching for the rest of the 2023 campaign after he suffered a partial tear in his UCL in late August and will eventually need surgery to repair it. Still, fantasy owners can take advantage of his bat when he returns to action, as he's slashed .304/.412/.654 with 44 bombs, 102 runs, 95 RBI, and 20 steals across 135 games.
