2 days agoAccording to Robert Murray of FanSided.com, right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller signed a minor-league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. This contract includes an invitation to spring training. The 34-year-old logged 55 2/3 innings with the Detroit Tigers last summer before being released. During his stint in Detroit, Miller held a 4.53 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP. He showed strong command with a 5.8 percent walk rate but generated strikeouts at a low 21.8 percent rate. However, he did generate a 3.75 xERA, which suggests he may face some minor regression when he returns to the mound. During the 2023 season, Miller posted a strong 1.71 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP across 42 innings. If Miller can perform well in spring training, he should have a good chance to earn a role in the Arizona bullpen.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
