11 months agoFree agent pitcher Shelby Miller has agreed to a one-year contract with the Detroit Tigers pending a physical. After working to a tidy 3.02 ERA across 33 starts in 2015 as a member of the D-backs, Miller has endured a wealth of injuries combined with severe underperformance when healthy. However, the 33-year-old bounced back in a big way with the Dodgers in 2023, tossing a dynamite 1.71 ERA across 36 outings and 42 innings of work. Some form of regression is likely considering hitters hit just .165 on balls in play against him while he also posted a 4.14 SIERA that was well above his surface ERA figure. Nonetheless, the Tigers are looking for Miller to contribute to their bullpen after a big bounce-back season in 2023.--Brenton Kemp
