Shed Long Drives In Two Runs
Shed Long went 2-for-4 with two RBI during the win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. The 24-year-old singled to center, bringing in Dee Gordon in the top of the 4th before picking up his final RBI of the day via a single off of Edwin Jackson in the top of the 6th. Long was semi-productive in 2019, batting .263 while racking up 40 hits, 15 RBI, and five homers. He is slated to start come Opening Day and could find himself on a fantasy roster at some point in 2020, primarily in AL-only formats.

Shed Long Jr. Among Players Outrighted Off Mariners Roster
Shed Long Jr. (shin) was one of a number of players outrighted off the 40-man roster Friday. Utility man Sam Haggerty, pitcher Darren McCaughan, outfielder Marcus Wilson, and pitcher Ryan Weber were also sent to Triple-A. Long Jr. and Weber have both elected free agency. It's been a tough road for Long Jr., who has had each of the last two seasons end with shin issues. There's some power and speed upside, but it's hard to imagine Long Jr. being a factor for fantasy managers entering 2022 no matter where he ends up.
