Shea Langeliers Called Up By A's
2 years agoThe Oakland Athletics have promoted catching prospect Shea Langeliers from the minors on Tuesday. The team's top prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, Langeliers was hitting .283/.366/.510 with an .876 OPS, 19 home runs, 56 RBI, 62 runs scored and five stolen bases in 402 plate appearances and 92 games for Triple-A Las Vegas before his first big-league call-up. The 24-year-old backstop should play regularly down the stretch for the out-of-contention A's, with Sean Murphy seeing more time as the designated hitter. Because of his offensive upside at the weak catching position in fantasy baseball, Langeliers is worth picking up in most leagues.
