1 year agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan (back) was throwing on Saturday prior to the start of the game against the Kansas City Royals. Ray beat writer noted that McClanahan was throwing with pitching coach Kyle Snyder and head athletic trainer Joe Benge present. This is a very encouraging sign that the 26-year-old ace is already throwing after exiting Thursday's start early with back tightness. Barring any setbacks, he should have a trip to the injured list but he could have his start pushed back a day or two. Fantasy managers will want to keep a close watch on his status as we roll into next week.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
