Shane Greene Loses Arbitration Case
5 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher Shane Greene lost his salary arbitration case against the team, according to a source. He'll earn $6.25 million in 2020 instead of the $6.75 million he requested. Greene put up a nice 2.30 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with the Tigers and Braves in 65 relief appearances last year. The right-hander also recorded 22 saves with the Tigers, but he was relegated to mostly a setup role with Atlanta to close out the year and recorded just one save with the Braves. Mark Melancon and Will Smith are now ahead of Green in the late innings in Atlanta for the 2020 season, so it's unlikely he'll have any fantasy appeal as a closing option to begin the season.
