Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Shane Bieber fell to 1-1 despite earning a quality start in Monday's 3-0 loss to the Angels. Bieber pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits (including two home runs) and two walks with six strikeouts. The 26-year-old has gotten good results overall this season with a 2.82 ERA over 22 1/3 IP. However, his velocity is still down on all of his pitches and his 22 strikeouts are not at the rate fantasy managers have come to expect. There is no reason to think that Bieber can't continue to be a useful fantasy starter, but it remains to be seen if he can be as valuable as he has been in the past with his diminished velocity.
