Shane Baz Will Make His MLB Debut Monday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Shane Baz (back) will make his major league Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays. He originally was scheduled to pitch Friday but was scratched due to back spasms. The 22-year-old posted a 2.06 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and a 12.9 K/9 across 78 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. Baz is the Rays' top prospect, but it's unclear if he will be on a pitch count for Monday's start. The Rays rookie phenom has a ton of upside and is worth rostering for the season's final two weeks. Despite the tough matchup against a loaded Blue Jays offense, Baz can be used as a streamer in Monday's slate.
