Shakir Mukhamadullin Reassigned To AHL
10 months agoThe San Jose Sharks have reassigned rookie defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin to the American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda. The move was expected as the Sharks enter the All-Star break and subsequent bye week and will not be back in action until Feb. 14 versus the Winnipeg Jets. The move gives the 22-year-old an opportunity to keep playing and developing in his first full season in North America. The Russian blueliner has appeared in just three games with the Sharks this season, registering an assist and four penalty minutes in that time. He has produced five goals and 26 points across 39 games with the Barracuda after he notched one goal and 10 points across 12 games with them last season following the conclusion of his KHL season in Russia. San Jose sits 31st in the NHL with a 14-32-5 record entering the break and will have a decent shot at the No. 1 overall pick in 2024 as a result.
