7 days agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (shin) has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Utah Jazz. This marks the second game in a row that Gilgeous-Alexander has missed due to a shin contusion. The Thunder have already locked up the top seed in the West, so they don't have any incentive to play their top players at this point in the season. That being said, Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, and Ajay Mitchell figure to see plenty of run during Friday's game. None of them are offering much streaming appeal, but Wiggins is probably the best out of the three.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is off the injury report for Friday's matchup with the visiting Hornets. SGA is having an MVP-caliber year, averaging a career-high 33.0 points with 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 blocks. He took the night off to rest when OKC played the 76ers on Wednesday night, allowing Isaiah Joe to move into the starting lineup and finish with 21 points while shooting 5-for-9 from behind the three-point line. His absence also enabled Jaylin Williams to amass an impressive 19-point, 17-rebound, 11-assist triple-double. With Jalen Williams (hip) and Luguentz Dort (hip) ruled out, there should be room in the rotation for Williams and Joe to remain involved. However, it will likely be business as usual against Charlotte, with Gilgeous-Alexander commanding the offense.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (rest) will not be in action on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The team plans to rest him for the matchup, with Gilgeous-Alexander sitting out a game for only the third time this season. Luguentz Dort (hip) and Jalen Williams (hip) also won't play, leaving OKC without three starters for the contest. In this situation, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins are likely to be asked to shoulder a heavier workload. There may be even more playing time available for the Thunder bench, depending on the statuses of Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Isaiah Hartenstein (back), who are both listed as questionable on the injury report.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (rest) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Portland Trail Blazers. OKC will rest its MVP candidate for the matchup, with back-to-back games against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on the horizon. With Jalen Williams (wrist) and Isaiah Hartenstein (nose) joining Gilgeous-Alexander on the sidelines, the Thunder's starting lineup will look significantly different against the Trail Blazers. Jaylin Williams, Aaron Wiggins, Alex Caruso, and Isaiah Joe will all have additional fantasy value Friday night.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (wrist) will play on Sunday night versus the Brooklyn Nets. SGA didn't suit up for Friday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks because of a sprained wrist, his first absence of the 2024-25 campaign. He had been questionable heading into this contest, so most had assumed he would get another night off against the 14-win Nets. However, Gilgeous-Alexander will be out there. As expected, OKC is the heavy favorite on Sunday night. While Gilgeous-Alexander is expected to remain a potent fantasy producer, he could see fewer minutes than usual if this one gets out of hand.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
