Several D-Backs Players Test Positive For COVID-19
4 years agoOne player on the Arizona Diamondbacks 40-man roster, "several" minor leaguers and one minor league coach have tested positive for COVID-19 over the last week, according to a team official. No identities have been released, but a source says that more than 70 of the 80-plus tests came back negative. All of the positive tests came from individuals who were and remain asymptomatic. The D-Backs opted to test more than 80 members of the organization after MLB shut down training facilities last week. All of the team's positives came from the Salt River complex, which has since undergone a deep cleaning. Around half of the 40-man roster was tested, with all but one coming back negative. Multiple negative tests will be required from the team's 60-man pool before they are allowed to return to team facilities.
