2 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Seth Lugo (calf) strained his calf while running to first base on a play that ended the second inning, according to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com, and he didn't come back out for the third. Before his exit, the right-hander was shelled, giving up five runs on four hits and two walks while striking out a pair against the Kansas City Royals. Manager Bob Melvin told reporters after the game that Lugo will most likely miss his next scheduled start. The 33-year-old is running a 4.10 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 21.3% strikeout rate with a 3-3 record, so fantasy managers won't be missing much if he takes a trip to the injured list.
