Seth Lugo To Start Tuesday Against Miami
4 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Seth Lugo will start for the Mets on Tuesday in the second game of a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins. Lugo will remain in the starting rotation indefinitely. Lugo has historically been much more effective out of the bullpen. As a relief pitcher, Lugo’s career ERA is 2.53 against a career ERA of 4.06 as a starter. As a result of the wide difference, the Mets had opted to primarily utilize Lugo as a reliever for the past two seasons. The current decision to move Lugo back into the rotation is suspect at best and significantly hurts his fantasy value. Despite Tuesday's prime matchup against Miami, DFS players should be aware that a win and/or quality start will be tough to come by since Lugo is not stretched out. It is also of note for season-long managers that a permanent move to the rotation could adversely impact Lugo's ratios based on his past performance as a starter. Managers in redraft leagues who have Lugo rostered for saves should make necessary adjustments.
