Seth Lugo Picks Up Save On Tuesday
3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Seth Lugo picked up his first save of the season on Tuesday by working two innings in the Mets 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs. Lugo went two innings, allowing two hits, one walk, and striking out three to secure the Mets victory. Closer Edwin Diaz (rest) was unavailable on Tuesday due to his recent workload. Since Lugo returned from the 60-day injured list on June 2, he has pitched effectively and taken over his usual high leverage spot in the bullpen setting up Diaz. Lugo remains an elite option for fantasy managers in leagues that reward holds. He should be in line to put up elite ratios, strikeouts, a large number of holds, and an occasional save when Diaz is unavailable.
