Seth Lugo Capped At 60 Pitches For Tuesday’s Start
4 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Seth Lugo will be held to a 60-pitch pitch count on Tuesday, according to manager Luis Rojas. The Mets are working to stretch Lugo out after the team suffered a rash of losses to their pitching staff, but Tuesday will be Lugo’s first start since 2018, and he didn’t throw more than 45 pitches in any of his 61 appearances last season. Lugo has been dominant as a reliever over the past few seasons with a 2.68 ERA since the start of 2018, including a 2.61 mark in nine appearances so far this season. Lugo’s limited pitch count and lack of high-quality starting experience make him an unattractive DFS option even against the Marlins on Tuesday, but fantasy players in full-season leagues should hold on to Lugo and see how he adjusts to his new role before making roster decisions.
