Seth Halvorsen Could See Save Chances For Rockies
17 seconds agoThe Denver Post's Patrick Saunders writes that Colorado Rockies right-hander Seth Halvorsen is in the mix for saves in 2025. Tyler Kinley is believed to be the favorite for saves in Colorado to open the season because of the experience factor alone, but Halvorsen should be in the mix as well after making his major-league debut last year and pitching to a nice 1.46 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, his first two career saves, 13 strikeouts and two walks in the small sample size of 12 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old struck out 56 batters in 44 1/3 innings at Double-A and Triple-A, too, before getting called up. The former seventh-rounder out of the University of Tennessee in 2023 features a triple-digit fastball, splitter and slider, all of which generate plenty of whiffs. Walks could be an issue, but Halvorsen's upside makes him intriguing for saves speculators in deeper fantasy leagues.
