Sergio Romo, Starlin Castro, Others Could Be Dealt
5 years agoMiami Marlins closer Sergio Romo, second baseman Starlin Castro, first baseman Neil Walker and outfielder Curtis Granderson could all be moved by the July 31 trade deadline this month. The Marlins will clearly be sellers this summer. Romo, a 12-year veteran, has converted 16 of his 17 save chances and could be a useful setup man for a contending team. He hasn't been that attractive as a fantasy closer on one of the worst teams in baseball, but Romo would lose all of his remaining value if he's setting up for a new team in the second half. Castro, a four-time All-Star, is having a down year with a .245 average, .366 slugging percentage and a 17.3 percent strikeout rate. He could be a little more appealing in single-universe leagues if he's traded, but he'd have to be in a starting role.
