Sergio Romo Earns A Save Tuesday Versus The Nationals
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays closer Sergio Romo came into a precarious situation Tuesday versus Washington. Romo was brought in with the bases loaded with one out in the ninth inning of a 1-0 game. He managed to get two outs without allowing a run to earn his sixth save of the season. Romo had been serving multiple roles this season, including starting several times. This split role made it tough for fantasy owners to use Romo. When he opened, he could not provide either a win or a save, and he would often be facing the best part of a team's lineup. Now that he seems to be the closer, his value has gone up tremendously.
