Sergio Romo Earns A Save Friday Versus The Yankees
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays closer Sergio Romo suppressed a strong offense Friday versus the Yankees. He protected a 2-1 lead against possibly the most powerful offense in the majors to earn his fifth save of the season out of nine chances. While five out of nine is not a good rate, he has converted three out of four in the last week. Romo had been serving multiple roles this season, including starting several times. This split role made it tough for fantasy owners to use Romo. When he opened, he could not provide either a win or a save, and he would often be facing the best part of a team's lineup. Now that he seems to be the closer, his value goes up tremendously.
