6 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Sergio Romo offered some excitement Sunday versus Oakland. He came in with one out and the bases loaded in the ninth inning. He would allow a grand slam homer but finished out the inning to earn his 21st save of the season. He had also opened several games earlier in the season. Romo has been somewhat sparsely used lately until the last two games. There is still some concern that other pitchers might continue to get more opportunities down the stretch. Owners may not be completely reassured but in most leagues, there simply are not many better options on the waiver wire so he should remain owned.--Jamie Mellor
