Seranthony Dominguez Avoids Arbitration With Two-Year Deal
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies and relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez avoided salary arbitration on Thursday by agreeing to a two-year deal worth $7 million. Dominguez will make $2.5 million this year and $4.5 million in 2024, and the deal includes an $8 million option for 2025 with a $500,000 buyout. The deal buys out Dominguez's final two years of arbitration. The 28-year-old right-hander was great for the Phillies in a high-leverage role in 2022, posting a 3.00 ERA (3.09 FIP), 1.14 WHIP, nine saves and 61 strikeouts in 51 relief innings. He should once again be in the mix for saves and plenty of holds, but the Phils have also revamped their bullpen, which now includes closers Craig Kimbrel and Gregory Soto.
