Sepp Straka Trending Down Into PGA Championship
3 years agoSince his top-five finish at the RBC Heritage, Sepp Straka has struggled over his last three starts. After missing the cut at both the Zurich Classic and Wells Fargo Championship, Straka finished T73 last week at the AT&T Byron Nelson. Straka has been one of the toughest players to figure out this season, due to his inconsistency. Before his win at the Honda Classic, Straka only had two finishes inside the top-20 in his first 13 starts. Then after his win, Straka has two top-ten finishes in his last eight starts. With that much inconsistency, it's hard to consider Straka as someone to trust this week, going into only the second PGA Championship start of his career.

Sepp Straka In Excellent Form Heading To The PLAYERS Championship
4 weeks agoSepp Straka finished tied for fifth at last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational and is now preparing for The PLAYERS Championship, which will be held at TPC Sawgrass this week. In his eight starts this season, Straka has one win, two top-five finishes, and three top-15 finishes. He has historically performed well at The PLAYERS Championship, finishing T16 in 2024, T65 in 2023, and tied for ninth in 2022. Over the past 12 months, Straka ranks in the 97th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is significant, as over 32% of approach shots at last year's The PLAYERS Championship came from this distance. Straka could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.

Sepp Straka Needs Accuracy At Arnold Palmer Invitational
1 month agoSepp Straka is a golfer that can be hot when his form is on. The Austrian golfer bounced back from a rough time at The Genesis Invitational last week. At PGA National in Florida, Straka fell out of the Top 10 late but finished T-11 behind a 70. This was after three rounds of 67. A few errant shots and putts did not go Straka's way. Bay Hill penalizes more for errant tee shots and irons so Straka will need to avoid mistakes this week. At Torrey Pines, he did not and paid dearly. Straka ranks inside the Top 10 in some models when combining birdie potential, strokes gained on approach and strokes gained in Florida. Ranking 11th in 2025 in approach to green at 0.867 strokes gained could make him a nice Top 5 or Top 10 betting option this week.

Sepp Straka Desperate To Rebound After Genesis Blowup
1 month agoSepp Straka had two days not to remember at The Genesis Invitational. The Austrian golfer went 78-76 in an appearance that appeared to go wrong from the beginning. Before this, Straka won at The American Express, and contended at Pebble Beach (T-7) and Scottsdale (15). He ranks third among golfers overall on the PGA Tour through six events. This is the type of event Straka thrives in. He is now +2500 via DraftKings and among the top five favorites. Straka scrambles well enough, ranks 6th in greens in regulation, 5th in proximity, and 11th in approaches from greater than 200 yards. Keeping the ball straight and not making many mistakes should be what to expect from Straka this week.

Sepp Straka Looks To Stay Hot At Genesis Invitational
2 months agoFantasy managers placing an emphasis on recent form this week will certainly have their eyes on Sepp Straka. The 31-year-old Austrian has been on fire in the 2025 calendar year, making five consecutive cuts and racking up finishes of T15, T30, 1st, T7, and 15th along the way. Perhaps even more impressive, he's gained strokes off-the-tee and on approach in eight consecutive starts dating back to September of 2024. While he did miss the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open in 2024, he posted a T16 in 2022 and a T32 in 2021, and he's undoubtedly in much stronger form heading to Torrey Pines this week. While Straka's distance off-the-tee may be a disadvantage, he does rank 16th in driving accuracy, seventh in good drive percentage, seventh on approach, fifth in par 5 scoring, and sixth in opportunities gained over the last 36 rounds. There's no reason to start fading Straka this week, especially at his flat $8,000 DraftKings salary.
