Semyon Varlamov Gets Start Against Sabres
4 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov will guard the cage on Monday against Buffalo, looking to bounce back after suffering back-to-back defeats to Pittsburgh. His record for the season dropped to 7-4-2 last week. Varlamov has a 2.07 goals-against average for the year with a .925 save percentage and three shutouts. He's in very good form and has already beaten the struggling Sabres once this season, so it's a great matchup for him to get back to winning ways. Varlamov has won 10 of his 13 previous career appearances against Buffalo.
