Sebastian Aho Signed To Offer Sheet By Canadiens
6 years agoThe Montreal Canadiens signed restricted free-agent center Sebastian Aho of the Carolina Hurricanes to a five-year offer sheet with an average annual value of $8.454 million. There is a large signing bonus with a minimal cap hit for the first season, which might help the Hurricanes match the offer. It's hard to believe owner Tom Dundon letting the team's lone All-Star representative move on, especially after Raleigh finally had a winner for the first time in a decade. Aho was a giant piece of that success. Look for Carolina to match the deal rather swiftly. "I'm actually surprised it wasn't more," Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said. The Canes reportedly have said they'd match any offer sheet for Aho. They have seven days to do so.

Sebastian Aho A Game-Time Call Versus Kings
2 months agoCarolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho (illness) is a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt against the Los Angeles Kings. There is a chance Aho makes a comeback to the lineup after missing only one game. He was on an impressive three-game goal streak before sitting out Thursday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks due to an illness. Jordan Staal (illness) and Taylor Hall (illness) are also game-time decisions for Saturday's matchup. If the trio ends up not playing against the Kings, players like Jack Roslovic, Jackson Blake, and Eric Robinson will gain additional fantasy value.

Sebastian Aho Questionable For Thursday
2 months agoAccording to Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News, Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho (illness) was unable to participate in the morning skate and is questionable for Thursday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks. Alexander noted that Aho was not feeling well and left the rink before the skate began. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the team may need to promote a forward from the AHL as Jack Roslovic (illness) is all day-to-day and questionable for Thursday's contest. Aho has tallied seven points over his previous five games (four goals, three helpers) with 13 total shots on goal and a +2 rating. If Aho were to sit out on Thursday, fantasy managers should expect either Jordan Staal or Jesperi Kotkaniemi to move up to the top line. Both would be intriguing value plays in DFS.

Sebastian Aho Scores Third Goal In Four Games
3 months agoCarolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho capped off the scoring with an empty-net goal in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Rangers. He found the back of the net for the third time in four games and now boasts 10 markers for the campaign. The Hurricanes look very strong, and Aho has been at the heart of the team's success. He's gone scoreless just once in nine December appearances and is sporting 35 points through 33 games. Following three consecutive 30-goal campaigns, Aho's goal-scoring rate has dropped in 2024-25, but he's on track to log 60 assists for the first time in his career.
