Sean Strickland Looks To Reclaim Middleweight Title At UFC 312
2 months agoSean Strickland (29-6) is set to challenge Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 312 on Saturday in Australia. Strickland is the former champ and is coming off a decision win over Paulo Costa after he lost a split decision to Du Plessis to lose his middleweight title. Strickland enters the fight as the underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,600. In the UFC, Strickland is 16-6 with five wins by stoppage. Strickland could become just the second middleweight in UFC history to become a two-time champion.

Sean Strickland Gets Decision Win At UFC 302
10 months agoSean Strickland improved to 29-6 with a split decision win over Paulo Costa at UFC 302. Strickland was fighting for the first time since losing his middleweight title back in January and he used his jab to piece up Costa. As the fight went on, Strickland began to take over as he upped his volume and pressure. Strickland ended up outstriking Costa 182-to-158 as he edged out the decision win. With the victory, Strickland could be getting another crack at the UFC's middleweight title next time out.

Sean Strickland Returns At UFC 302 After Losing Title
10 months agoSean Strickland (28-6) is set to return in a five-round co-main event fight at UFC 302 against Paulo Costa. Strickland is coming off a controversial split decision loss to Dricus Du Plessis back in January to lose his middleweight title. Strickland will now take on Costa at UFC 302 in a fight that he is the favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,800. In the UFC, Strickland is 15-6 and before the loss to Du Plessis he pulled off an upset win over Israel Adesanya. Strickland has only five wins by stoppage in the UFC while he's been finished in two of his six losses. A win over Costa could get him a title shot.

Sean Strickland Loses Title At UFC 297
1 year agoSean Strickland suffered a split decision loss to Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 297 on Saturday to lose his middleweight title. Strickland started off strong as he outstruck Du Plessis 39-to-19 in the first round, but did get taken down twice in the opening five minutes. The next four rounds were very competitive, and although Strickland outstruck Du Plessis in three of the four rounds, two of the three judges' scored the fight for the South African. Although Strickland lost his title at UFC 297, he likely is only a win away from getting another title shot.
