4 years agoThe Atlanta Braves reinstated left-handed pitcher Sean Newcomb (undisclosed) from the injured list on Friday. In corresponding moves, right-hander Edgar Santana was recalled and right-hander Mike Soroka was moved to the 60-day injured list. The team also optioned right-hander Bryse Wilson and infielder Johan Camargo to the alternate training site. Newcomb hasn't pitched since April 16 for undisclosed reasons, but he threw at the alternate site on Tuesday, according to manager Brian Snitker. A converted starter, the southpaw was looking great in relief before landing on the injured list, striking out 12 with a 1.69 ERA and a save in 5 1/3 innings this year. He should jump back into high-leverage situations at the back end of the bullpen upon his return.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
