Sean Murphy Sitting Out Wednesday
6 months agoAtlanta Braves catcher Sean Murphy (elbow) is sitting out of Wednesday's matinee affair at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. Travis d'Arnaud will do the catching and will bat sixth against Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta. Fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised that Murphy is out after he left the game late in Tuesday's win when he was hit by a pitch on his right elbow. Thankfully, X-rays on the 29-year-old backstop came back negative, so he's considered day-to-day for now. There's a chance he could be back in action on Thursday against the Washington Nationals. Murphy has already missed substantial time this year due to an oblique strain and is hitting just .182 (4-for-22) with no homers, but he is Atlanta's primary catcher when healthy. d'Arnaud isn't a bad DFS option at the position and has a homer and three RBI in six career at-bats against Pivetta.
