Sean Murphy Blasts First Homer Of 2021
4 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy launched his first homer of the season in a 3-2 win over the Tigers on Sunday. Murphy has gotten off to a weird start this season. He's scalding the ball with a 47.7 percent hard-hit rate and has posted a strong 118 wRC+ so far this year. Despite the positive batted ball metrics, Murphy is batting just .161 with only one homer and five measly RBI. It may be tough for fantasy managers to leave Murphy in starting lineups, but things should turn around for the 26-year-old backstop soon, possibly starting with his homer on Sunday. The A's are tentatively scheduled to play a doubleheader with the Twins on Tuesday pending the Twins latest round of COVID testing. Check back for news on that series before locking Murphy into weekly lineups.
