Sean Manaea Hopes To Return During All-Star Break
6 years agoOakland Athletics starter Sean Manaea (shoulder) threw from 90 feet on Thursday and hopes he can make it back to the team around the All-Star break. Manaea underwent surgery last September due to a labrum tear in his shoulder and is progressing ahead of schedule. The 27-year-old had a fine 2018 tossing 160 2/3 innings with a 12-9 record, 3.59 ERA, and a 1.08 WHIP with the A's, but his 16.5% K% was the lowest mark of his career. It's a long road to full recovery for Manaea, but he could provide some fantasy value in the second half of the season whenever he does return. For now, the southpaw can be left on waivers in all formats, but he may be worth snagging up when we find out a firm timetable for his comeback.
