2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants used lefty Sean Manaea in relief during Monday's 12-3 blowout win over the Chicago White Sox. He came into the game in the seventh for his season debut and allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one over two innings of work. The Giants signed Manaea in the offseason to a one-year deal, hoping he would bounce back after producing a 4.96 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 156 strikeouts across 158 innings with the San Diego Padres in 2022. It's unclear if the former Oakland Athletic will be part of a six-man rotation later in the season or if he'll remain in a long relief role until a spot opens up. Either way, Manaea can be dropped without a second thought in most formats unless there's room on the bench to stash him.--Spencer Seguin
