Seahawks Give Geno Smith More Help With Jaxon Smith-Njigba
2 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks selected Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday night. The Seahawks kept their fifth overall pick in the first round and took cornerback Devon Witherspoon, and now they give quarterback Geno Smith yet another explosive receiving option on offense. Smith-Njigba is the first wide receiver off the board on Thursday night in what is considered a very weak wideout class. The 21-year-old is extremely agile and will join DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in his rookie season in what will be a very dangerous trio of wideouts. Smith-Njigba missed most of his final year in college with a hamstring injury, but he's completely healthy and will make an impact in his first year. However, fantasy managers in single-year leagues shouldn't expect too much while sharing looks with Metcalf and Lockett.
