Scott McGough Optioned To Triple-A
4 months agoArizona Diamondbacks pitcher Scott McGough was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Merrill Kelly (shoulder), who was activated off the 60-day injured list on Sunday. McGough has operated as both a starter and a reliever this season in the desert. Across 29 innings of work in the big leagues, the 34-year-old posted a 6.83 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. McGough was called upon to serve in long relief on Saturday evening and logged two clean innings with just one free pass. The right-hander could find his way back to the major leagues later in the second half but will likely continue to serve as a long-relief option, which will limit his potential fantasy value.
