Scott McGough Allows Back-To-Back Homers, Blows Save Monday
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Scott McGough blew his first save of the season and took the loss in Monday's 5-4 game against the Padres. McGough came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth with a one-run lead. He allowed a leadoff homer to David Dahl to tie the game and then allowed the winning run on a Ha-Seong Kim HR. It was a stark contrast from McGough's Sunday outing, in which he retired both hitters he faced to earn his first save of the season. While the Diamondbacks are likely going to use a number of arms in save situations, it seems as though the 33-year-old may have the lead in a committee for now. However, he has only pitched 7 2/3 innings in his career, so fantasy managers should be wary.
