Scott Mayfield Exits Early On Saturday
16 seconds agoAccording to Ethan Sears of the New York Post, New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield (lower body) exited early during their victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday evening. Mayfield sustained this injury during the second period. Before exiting, he logged just over 10 minutes of ice time with one blocked shot. Over his previous six games, Mayfield has averaged 2.5 blocked shots per game but has been held off the scoresheet. Overall, the 32-year-old has scored two goals and added five helpers with a +14 rating over 50 games. He has logged 71 hits and 87 blocked shots. If Mayfield were to sit out on Sunday evening when the Islanders face the Florida Panthers, fantasy managers should expect Dennis Cholowski to enter the starting lineup.
