6 years agoWith J.P. Crawford on the sidelines with a broken hand, Scott Kingery has taken over every day starting shortstop duties for the Philadelphia Phillies. While he’s struggled defensively, June has been his best hitting month of the season, but lately, he’s been even better. Following three hits (including a home run), an RBI and two runs scored in Friday’s loss to the Washington Nationals, the 24-year-old is hitting .327 across his last 15 games, scoring seven runs during the span. A utility player, Kingery is one of the leading figures of Philadelphia’s youth movement, and with multiple positions of eligibility, he could develop into a major waiver wire option as we enter July.--RDelgado
